BASNET Experts By Experience Panel

The aim of BASNET Experts By Experience Panel is to enable those who have experienced human trafficking and modern slavery to influence UK policy and research through the lens of equality, diversity and inclusion. It is also an opportunity for them to share their lived experiences as part of research consultative panels or advisory panels.

Through their lived experiences members are able to critique research development, service development and share knowledge and ideas to achieve improvement in sector delivery.

Members of our experts by experience panel have participated in a number of BASNET research projects. These include an MS-PEC funded research project led by University of Sheffield on the prevention of modern slavery in the UK. They were able to contribute knowledge and ideas based on their lived experiences to inform the research project. Our members have also participated in a focus panel where racism in NRM shelters was explored.

The BASNET Experts By Experience Panel is also primarily a safe haven for those who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking to receive support and support each other through their journey. This is a closed group.
