BASNET 2nd Residential Capacity Building Programme for BME Anti - Trafficking Innovators 2024

The UK BME Anti-Slavery Network (BASNET) is hosting its second residential capacity building programme for Black and ethnic anti-trafficking innovators across the UK modern slavery and human trafficking sector. The aim is to foster community between members who are founders and CEOs of small charities and aid in the strengthening of skills and processes needed to advance their organisations.

This programme is opened to organisations who are active members of BASNET only.

Date: 20th to 23rd of May 2024

Location: AFRUCA Centre, Manchester

Cost: The cost of the Residential Programme is covered by our grant from Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. The programme is free of charge for all participants who are members of BASNET.

What can you expect:

The BASNET Residential Capacity Building Programme is aimed at strengthening the capacity of Black led community organisations to successfully address the myriad of modern slavery issues arising in their communities, through gaining a range of new and essential skills.

The residential programme will host 15 participants from across the UK. Over three days, they will work with a range of sector experts to undertake in-depth training in  related subjects, including:

 

Topics 

  • Theory of Change and Strategic Planning

  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

  • Fundraising, including writing successful grant applications

  • Communicating for Impact

  • Becoming an Impactful Anti-Trafficking Innovator

 

Who can apply?

  • The applicant must be a Full and active Member of BASNET who has shown commitment to the development and growth of BASNET. Click here to join BASNET.

  • The applicant must hold the position of Founder CEO, or Director of an organisation, responsible for managing and/or influencing multiple internal or external stakeholders and create a wider impact.

  • The applicant must have attended at least 2 bi-monthly meetings of BASNET members and can dedicate their time to attending the whole of the programme.

What we expect of you

  • Confirmed participants will be required to attend the full duration of the Residential Capacity Building Programme and to actively engage in all sessions

  • Confirmed participants will be required to complete all post-programme evaluation work including two virtual sessions

  • Confirmed participants are expected to take part in the Residential Capacity Building Programme social media campaign
